| Description | This 5-day course will provide policymakers with comprehensive background knowledge relevant to the increasingly important field of ‘water security’. It will explore how the multiple levels of water security - human, community, state, international and global – require focussed but considered policy inputs, and emphasis will be placed on overlaps with water security-related sectors such as climate security, food security and energy security.
Topics that will be covered during the course include: - Water security basics - Water economics and catchment management - Agriculture and water - Water scarcity and rights - Climate security and water - Global trade and water - Water and development - Water and energy security / Water and trade - Power and water security.
